I am concerned with the parallels that exist between a manipulated image and aspects of society, such as politics, to highlight the problems of finding meaning in representations. Through photographs, I deconstruct the devices of visual storytelling to subvert the underlying assumptions, contradictions and supposed authority of the medium. My tendency toward photography has been a response to our spectacle society driven by an increasingly image saturated world. In addition, this allows for a reading of not only the content of the work, but the context of the photographic frame as well.
